Slow-cooked bone broth

  • 3 carrots chopped

  • 3 celery stalks chopped

  • 1 onion chopped

  • 3 cloves garlic

  • your choice of herbs

  • 5 lb beef, chicken, or bison bones

  • Kosher salt

  • 3 tablespoons apple cider vinegar

  • water

1 - Place the bones into a large pot.

2 - Wash and chop the vegetables and garlic (no need to peel), and add into the pot

3 - Fill up  with water

4 - Add a generous amount of salt

5 - Add the apple cider vinegar

6 - Cook on low for 18-36 hours (the longer you cook, the most nutrients you get)

7 -  strain through a cheese cloth

Usually, I am using bison bones (less fat) with the same benefits. I add ginger and turmeric roots, and egg shells for calcium. Also, I am using all herbs I have in the garden.
